Exploring Tobermory, Ontario

Exploring Tobermory, Ontario

Turquoise water, grottos, islands shaped like flower pots ... it may sound like an exotic location a long flight away, but it’s actually a 3 hour drive from Toronto. It’s no coincidence that Tobermory has become one of the most popular spots in Ontario - there’s just so much to see and do here! This summer I checked off a long overdue travel bucket list item and spent a weekend exploring the Bruce Peninsula. Here’s my reccos for how to make the most of your visit:

See

 •The Grotto

Flower Pot Island

The Shipwrecks

Fathom Five National Marine Park

Tours

Blue Heron Cruises

Take the cruise out to Flowerpot Island, spend a couple hours here, then save time by taking the jet boat back.

Tobermory Helicopter Tours

Well worth the investment to see this iconic Canadian landscape from above.

Stay

•Accomodation options are still pretty basic up here, so picking the most convenient option is the way to go.  The Harbourside Motel is right on the water, steps from the boat tours.
