Late Fall Adventure in Belfountain

Late Fall Adventure in Belfountain

Who can resist a suspension bridge ... not to mention beautiful waterfall?

This beautiful conservation area is just an hour outside Toronto. Once you see the main attraction (the bridge) take a walk on the nature trail which takes you down to the river and across another beautiful bridge. This trail is a loop, and conveniently takes you back to the parking lot. The trail is fairly easy to walk - just watch for lots of free roots.

Random fact: The site once belonged to Charles Mack, inventor of the cushion-back rubber stamp. You can see a fountain that he had built by the suspension bridge as well as some old stone walls around the site.

Don't head home as soon as you are done your hike. The village of Belfountain is super cute. We checked out the Belfountain General Store - home to some delicious ice cream.
