Where to stay in Charleston: The Beach Club
This winter we took our very first family vacation. After running through places that fit our long list of criteria (short flights, no time change, at least 15 degrees warmer than Canada and February, and somewhere with historic charm and delicious food) we landed on Charleston, South Carolina.
The next question was where to stay. Charleston has loads of amazing hotels, but we were looking for something that was close to the city, had some spaces outside we could enjoy with our nine-month old, and spots for us to relax while she napped.
Enter The Beach Club. Just across the harbour from the historic downtown, this hotel had everything we were looking for: A baby friendly pool, amazing balconies, a delicious hot chocolate bar and best of all views of the Charleston skyline and harbour. We caught one of the most beautiful sunsets I’ve seen, and were treated the next morning to a foggy sunrise where the city seemed to emerge from the clouds.
Check out a few other highlights from our stay:
The Pool
We left behind snowbanks and chilly temperatures, so The Beach Club pools were such a treat! The pools all overlook the harbour, so there are amazing views from every lounger and cabana, and the heated pool was perfect for the baby to take a dip.
The Rooms
The rooms at The Beach Club are so comfortable. We stayed in a Garden Studio Suite which was the perfectly sized room for the three of us. The balcony was a huge highlight of our stay; it was the best place to relax with a glass of wine after exploring the city.
One of my favourite things about hotel stays is hotel robes, and The Beach Club didn’t disappoint - their striped blue and white robes were made for lounging in.
The Views
I might be a little obsessed with catching sunsets on vacation. Often what happens is after a day of exploring, we are already back at our hotel as the sun is setting and miss golden hour. One of my favourite thing about The Beach Club is the sunset pretty much comes to you. If you choose to venture off your balcony, the sunset and sunrise is also pretty amazing from the pier and the beach at the resort.
Thanks to The Beach Club for a wonderful stay in Charleston. See more of their beautiful property here
