Vacationing in Charleston
Spring is my favourite season by far. Blossoming trees, more sunlight hours and the promise of summer just around the corner (which would be my favourite season if it wasn’t one step closer to winter!) make the months of May and June in Canada the best.
This year I was a little too impatient and wanted to get a dose of warm weather a little early. Our timing was perfect, because our February trip to Charleston lined up perfectly with the kick off to their spring - daffodils, cherry blossoms and magnolias were just popping out as we arrived!
Even better, Charleston’s cobblestone streets and pastel buildings were the perfect backdrop to our spring preview. We wandered around the city and discovered picture perfect alleyways and amazing restaurants and shops. We just scratched the surface of all there is to do in this city and are already planning a return trip.
Loved the atmosphere and food at Basic Kitchen.
The must-see Rainbow Row!
If only all cities had the flower boxes per capita of Charleston.
Can’t get enough of the spring blossoms!
The most beautiful time of day to explore was just before sunset.
Baby wearing around town :)
Is Charleston just the set of The Notebook 24-7?
A delicious spot for a Southern style lunch right on East Bay St.
The cutest greeting cards at Candlefish ... not to mention the best candles too!
Treats!
Until next time, Charleston.
